MACBETH
The Stratford Public Library, Stratford, CT | Good Question Theatre Company | Stamford, CT | April 28 – May 6, 2023
ABOUT
Macbeth is a play of the imagination. A phantasmagoria. It asks us to believe in a world where witches walk amongst us and ghosts come back to haunt us. It asks you to stretch your imagination and fill in the gaps. How was Duncan murdered? What were the conversations between Macbeth and his wife that we do not see? Our witches are a thread throughout the story; they are seen in the court delivering messages, waiting on Macbeth, and interacting with other characters. Did Macbeth really encounter them on the battlefield? Or are they his own imagination filling in gaps and propelling him forward to his fate? We are confronted with ourselves when the Porter, alone on the stage, asks “what are you?” We are invited to reflect on ourselves and our own ambition, played out in the guilty imagination we share with Macbeth. In our own lives, we are all presented with choices. The ones we make, define us.
Good Question was born on a balcony. It was created by artists with a shared passion for story telling. We thank you for coming to our inaugural performance. There is no story worth telling, if no one is listening.
